The Great Fire of London

On the night of September 2, 1666, The Great Fire of London began as a small fire on Pudding Lane, in the bakeshop.  The fire spread in very fast from there and carried on towards the Thames since houses were of wood and pitch construction which are dangerously flammable.

An extensive rebuilding programme took place after London’s Great Fire in 1666 and took about 50 years to complete.

A major exhibition has opened in the Museum of London this year in July 2016 about this disaster, which took place exactly 350 years ago. Localites and visitors from all over the world are excited to attend the exhibition to see what life was like for seventeenth century Londoners.

There are several Aparthotels in Kensington that gives tourists the quick access to the venue.
