Your Home for the London Holidays

The holidays have finally arrived, along with a frantic rush of social engagements and obligations. If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, while still staying close enough to enjoy the spirit of the season and the spectacles of the London neighborhood, then you’re in luck. One of the city’s premier holiday apartments is Aparthotels London, and the excellent facilities as well as its convenient location should be more than enough to make it your home away from home.

Of course, one is always keen on watching the vibrant spectacle of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks display.  The key to a perfect New Year’s Eve is to have an eventful evening that opens with a sumptuous meal – even better if you have someone special to share the moments with. Definitely It will be very special if you residing at Aparthotelsin Kensington located in Central London.

For an Asian twist on the occasion, you could go over to Hutong on 96 Tooley Street. The restaurant happens to be on the 33rd floor of The Shard, and this location offers an excellent vantage point from which to view not only the fireworks, but also the River Thames and the dazzling London skyline. The meal is a classic five course affair, paired with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs or Veuve Cliquot.

If a legendary party is how you wish to welcome the New Year, you can then ascend to The Shard’s 33rd floor, home to Aqua Shard, a contemporary British bar with a panoramic view of the city. There is room for couples and friends; tables for two or up to eight can be taken for reservation. A word of caution though: early reservations would be best as spots are easily snapped up by others who wish to spend the last hours of the bygone year in this picturesque location. Those who wish to dance the night away will be more than accommodated by the bar’s DJ, who will start dishing party tunes from midnight onwards. People who prefer a quieter evening could choose to remain in Hutong, where they serve dumplings and half a bottle of their fine champagne as you watch the vibrant fireworks paint the distant night sky with puffs of colorful fire and smoke.

If upscale bars and restaurants are a bit too stuffy for your tastes, you could instead go on over to the Tattershall Castle, which isn’t too far from Holiday Apartments in London. This floating pub is home to one of the best and up-close views of the great River Thames, which means a more intimate view of the fireworks display. The Castle is also home to lively bands who will play into the wee hours of the New Year. Beer and ale lovers will be delighted to find that this pub carries a satisfying collection of craft beers and the classics.

Having said your farewells to the old, and welcoming the new with fervent wishes and hopes, perhaps you would be more than ready to get some rest. Fortunately, if you are staying at the Kensington Aparthotels London, our helpful staff, a warm bed, and a clean room are already ready and waiting for you.

Americano-schmericano. Try the London Buzz!

Location, location, location—where you stay for the night can make or break a vacation. Fortunately, the Presidential Apartments Kensington is always there for your unique needs. For instance, if you’re jet-lagged and looking for a serious caffeine hit to wake you up, why not try the off-beat coffee shops that are just a hop, skip and jump away from the Aparthotels in Kensington?

Even tea-loving Brits have come to embrace the thick, heady fragrance of bitter coffee. But there’s more than just cream to the coffee experience; there’s also some healthy bit of puckish fun that seems to defy the stiff upper lip facade.

First off is the Cereal Killer Cafe on 139 Brick Lane. If you’re famished but not quite yet ready for a hearty, greasy breakfast, then maybe a bowl of milk paired with one of their one hundred and twenty cereal collection should be enough to perk you up with a sugary jolt of energy.

Once you’re all livened up, you might be feeling up to some activities. If you’re the animal-loving type, look for Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium over on Benthnal Green. They have nine rescue cats that are there for you to play with and cuddle, a nice respite from the stresses of cramped travel spaces and rushed schedules. Enjoy their company as you take a bite from biscuits or cake and sip some hot, fine tea.

If you feel confident in your handicraft skills, or if you’re looking for a chance to learn something new, go ahead and visit Sew Over It in Clapham or Islington. They have sewing machines which you can rent for an hour, which also provides you with a pot of tea, because working the needle and thread is hard work. You can even make your own dress or shirt to take home, and if you find the quality lacking and you have some time and patience to spare, feel free to attend the classes they offer.

Not yet ready to go back to the Aparthotels London? Then your next stop could be Drink Shop Do on King’s Cross. After all the coffee and tea, a bit of booze and chips should hit the spot and end the day right. If you’re inclined to show off your classic dance moves, check the bar out on Friday and Saturday evenings. You’ll fit right in, or perhaps even better, stand out! Then after a lively evening out and about, get a friend or a faithful cabbie to take you to the Presidential Apartments Kensington, where you can finally get some well-deserved top of the line rest and relaxation.

The Great Fire of London

On the night of September 2, 1666, The Great Fire of London began as a small fire on Pudding Lane, in the bakeshop.  The fire spread in very fast from there and carried on towards the Thames since houses were of wood and pitch construction which are dangerously flammable.

An extensive rebuilding programme took place after London’s Great Fire in 1666 and took about 50 years to complete.

A major exhibition has opened in the Museum of London this year in July 2016 about this disaster, which took place exactly 350 years ago. Localites and visitors from all over the world are excited to attend the exhibition to see what life was like for seventeenth century Londoners.

There are several Aparthotels in Kensington that gives tourists the quick access to the venue.

Play your Cards Right and Live on a Budget in London

When staying in London, you need to choose among the many available serviced apartments London.  Many people prefer serviced apartments over the usual hotels due to the following reasons:

  • Spacious, allowing guests to have a more comfortable stay
  • These apartments are fully furnished with all the amenities you want - flat screen TV, WIFI services, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine.  Use of these facilities is already included in the cost of accommodations.
  • You can pay a fixed daily rate for the unit. Occupancy (number of occupants per apartment) will not have an effect on the accommodation cost.
  • You can choose from studio, one or two bedroom apartments and a suite.
  • You can get a discount if you reserve early. The same goes if you wish to stay for longer periods of time (at least a week).
  • You can stay from a minimum of two days up to as long as you want.

Presidential apartments Kensington also offer additional perks like free breakfast and taxi service.  Although they also have housekeeping services, just like what hotels offer, housekeeping visits may be scheduled to ensure that these won’t affect your privacy.  Like the hotels, it also has a reception so that anything that you would like to request is within your reach.

As occupancy is not an issue in services apartments, you will have several choices. This is also one of the reasons why these serviced apartments London can offer substantial discounts to people who stay for a minimum of seven days.

The presidential apartments are centrally located so that you do not have to worry about getting around.  London's tube system is the best in the world and may connect you even from the airport to your hotel.  Bus passes allow for discounts not just on the buses, but on the trains and trams as well.  With the many free tours in and around the city, these experiences can definitely dispel the belief that London is an expensive city to be in.

Still having second thoughts? Grab that phone now and take advantage of the big discounts that the presidential and serviced apartments in Kensington offer.  By the way, check for freebies and additional discounts if you are bringing your children with you. There are many free tours for kids below 10 years old (provided they are accompanied by their parents), and some discounts for teenagers.

Getting the Best of Both Worlds: Aparthotels London

If it is your first time to go to London, you need to create a detailed itinerary of where you want to go and what you want to see.  London is such a big city and it can offer you everything your mind can think of - from the Buckingham Palace, to the Thames, the Big Ben, the tower of London, shopping (lots and lots of it), international cuisine, museums and parks - name it and you can find it there.

Even if you are just back packing or with friends on a limited budget, you would want to be in the center of it all, where transport is easy to get by and going home to a cozy and relaxing place is a cinch, where you can have privacy but still have things within easy reach.  Fortunately, you can have all these and still enjoy the amenities of furnished aparthotels London. A Holiday with the entire family can be both a joy and a challenge.  It’s a great time to bond and make memories for everybody.  However, kids have so much energy that they often get restless.  They will need a variety of activities outside of the Aparthotels London to have a great time.

Here are some great places and ideas for the family to try while on holiday.

Colchester Zoo

Located on Maldon Road in Stanway, just south of Colchester is an amazing Zoo that’s sure to keep the kids entertained for the entire day.  The family can travel by car, train or bus to enjoy the unique attractions the zoo offers.

Railway and Train Activities

Trains have always fascinated kids with its box carts and engines that go choo-choo!  What better way to entertain everybody than by exploring museums and parks that celebrate these modes of transportation.

East Anglian Railway Museum

Pay a visit to the museum that houses historic trains and experience the rural Chappel railway station.  With miniature and regular sized trains to ride on, this will be an adventure to remember.

Miniature Audley End Railway

Located close to Audley End House and Saffron Walden, a historic market town in Essex, this Railway is an enchanting experience for the family.
Everybody can go on a 15 minute ride on the miniature train to explore parklands and spot teddy bears living in the woods.  The family can also explore the Enchanted Fairy and Elf Walk where they can find fairies and elves in their little treehouses.   To make the trip more magical kids can create their own fairy wands or magic stick to use for their I Spy booklets.
Make your family’s stay in the city a memorable experience for everyone with these great and kid friendly activities. Another important part of your stay is getting the right holiday apartments in London.

Here are a few tips to help you find a good holiday apartment:

A Worry Free Holiday with Serviced Apartments London

Going on an extended holiday in London is something a lot of people dream of.  Come to think of it, taking time out from the stressful confines of work is a great way to recharge.

But before you go off to a relaxing holiday in Serviced Apartments Kensington, there are a few things you need to take care of.  The last thing you would want to happen is to hear about something disastrous happening at home.  Planning ahead will make sure that you don’t worry about this while on holiday.

Here are a few things to remember:

At Work

·        Holiday notice: Inform your co-workers and customers of your coming holiday.  This will give them enough time to get what they need done to be accomplished to avoid any last minute emergencies.

·      Out of the office notifications (OOTO): Make sure that you set an out of the office notification on your email and voice mail.  This will prevent any misconception that you are avoiding calls and not being responsive.

At Home

·      Making sure that your home and valuables are protected is one way to make sure that your holiday will be a success instead of a tragedy.

Utilities

·         Make sure that your house is safe from accidental fires. Make sure to turn the main switches off.

Friendly Neighbours, Friends or Relatives

·         Ask a friend or neighbour to visit your house occasionally to collect mail and turn on your car.

Advantages and Other Benefits

Since a trip to London can take about a week, a Holiday Apartments London will help reduce the cost. Any hotel room in the metro will usually cost a lot of money. There are also other advantages to getting a serviced apartment. Here are some of them:

·        Costs: You can say that a service apartment is a notch higher than a regular B&B. However, the rates aren’t that far apart (at times even better).

·       Huge value at minimum cost: It’s more than just another affordable room and board. In fact, some of the accommodations are business class custom tailored for the corporate traveller.

·   Better packaged than an expensive hotel room: Serviced apartments are usually strategically located. Guests are also afforded well-appointed living spaces.

·   Saves you money: These apartments cost 30% less, on average, compared to premier hotel accommodations.

Serviced apartments London are actually the better alternative if you consider the cost versus value. After making all the necessary preparations for your trip, these apartments will make your stay in London more worry free.
